League play starts in September, but it’s a little bit different this year.
As previously, teams will field 2 players, and each match will be four singles and one doubles. But for 2025/6, there will be an Autumn League running from mid-Sept to early-Dec, and a Winter League from January – April. There’ll be promotion and relegation at the end of each season, along with trophies for winning teams and leading players. We hope that this format will make it easier for new players and teams to join the league during the year.
The Autumn League will have 3 divisions, and is open to players of all levels looking for friendly but competitive regular match-play. To take part, teams and individuals need to register by Thursday 21 August, just email activities@dumfriesttc.co.uk. Full information will be on our website in due course.
We’ve plenty of opportunities for table tennis this summer. This is a FREE, informal fun session with all ages and abilities welcome. If possible email activities@dumfriesttc.co.uk in advance to let us know you’re coming. All players are required to sign in on arrival at the club. New players or guests must provide contact information.
Over 50s Still Gamer sessions will continue all summer as normal on Monday and Thursday mornings. Monday Beginner and Intermediate coaching sessions will resume once the schools are back.

It was with great sadness that we heard of the recent passing of Billy Goldie. Billy was Club President for some 20 years circa 1973 to 1993 and he was the clubs’ link to the local press. He was integral to DTTC building its current premises in Shakespeare Street in 1988, and helped to make it the first purpose-built table tennis club in the country. Without him, the club would not be what it is today – still with one of the best table tennis facilities in Scotland.
Billy had great support from his family, and his daughter played in her youth and again after having a family. Outside table tennis, he was an ardent Queen of the South fan, loved his gardening and had a wry sense of humour! He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
